Description
This 260
square mile area is located approximately 70 miles west of
Williams Lake and a few miles southwest of Hanceville, running
along the east side of Taseko River. Access to the area is
via Williams Lake by paved road and then gravel road to the
main camp. There are numerous lakes, streams, marshlands,
and meadows, which produce abundant big game, fantastic rainbow
trout fishing, and lots of game birds.
Hunting within the area is done on old logging roads and trails
using 4x4 and horses. Games species include: moose (22 in
5), mule deer, black bear, mountain lion, and wolf. No camps
or equipment.
This part of the Caribou is well known for it's hunting and
fishing. Other activities the new owner may expand on include:
fishing for wild rainbow trout, horseback riding, wildlife
viewing, and winter activities, such as ski-doing and cross
country skiing. Not to mention Taseko River being a large
whitewater rafting/kayaking attraction.
This area is a great opportunity for somebody wishing to enter
the outfitting industry, yet at the same time expand into
other tourism fields.
