Description

Here is a territory that is big, has a great cross sections of game, has extraordinary wilderness, yet the opportunity is there to hunt by truck or 4 wheeler. This 3,000 square mile territory is located near Bob Quinn and Tatoga Lake on Highway 37. The area takes in part of the drainages of the Unuk, Iskut, Bell Irving and Nass Rivers. Parts of the area are inaccessible and very remote with only access via float plane or tundra tires. Other parts along Highway 37 have reasonable access and afford excellent spring bear hunting. There are 2 base camps; one accessible by road, one only accessible by air. Game species are plentiful and trophy class. Grizzly are plentiful and trophy class. This is likely the highest Grizzly quota in BC due to salmon fed bears and wilderness habitat. Mountain Goat are also plentiful with B&C goats taken each year with areas within the territory unhunted. Canadian Moose are trophy class and plentiful, ranging between 45 and 55 inches. Stone Sheep that have been harvested the past few years have been of excellent quality and are extending their ranges into the territory to the south. Black Bear are like vermin with very high populations of excellent size with great opportunities for a superb spring hunt.

For the outfitter wishing to step up to a topnotch operation, this certainly fills the bill. Revenues can be excellent and hunter appreciation is high in this quality area. Unlike northern sheep areas this territory affords a great spring bear season that can be operated economically from one of the main camps. Fall hunts can be split into two different styles and priced hunts; one being backpack and four wheel drive style hunt along with the higher priced fly-in hunts to several outpost camps and fly camp locations. The area has many access points either via float plane, wheel plane or 4 wheeler.

This is a terrific opportunity, taking into consideration the diversity of game, quality of camps, as well as wilderness value, you can’t go wrong if you are looking for a larger style outfitting territory. Oh, did I mention fishing? This area has unlimited resources for Rainbow Trout, Dolley Varden, and some salmon and Steelhead. Virtually all the lakes have great fishing. If you wish to take fishermen during the summer months you can generate extra revenue and have a bundle of fun doing it

Not often does an outfit like this come available. If this territory meets your needs, give me a call to discuss.
