Description
This situation is a dandy if you want to outfit for Bighorns in Alberta. Not only do you have 4 Bighorn allocations in WMU 434 but also a couple of Elk and 3 Mule Deer thrown in. Unit 434 has been well recognized as one of the better Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep territories. It has limited resident pressure, generally because the zone is in a non-motorized area. Only transportation allowed is either by horse or hiking. 434 is recognized as having a healthy population of sheep which is a resident herd not relying on animals to cross in from other areas. This unit also has a variety of hunting terrain allowing for hunters of all physical abilities the opportunity of taking a sheep while either backpacking or using horse, no need for aircraft or wagons within this location.
Look, this is a great opportunity to get into the sheep business and have extra income from other species. This unit has a higher success rate than the provincial average and you won’t have to beat other outfitters to the prime areas. This outfit has no equipment or livestock included.

Area Data
Mountain Hunting Region
This rugged region is a portion of the Canadian Rocky Mountains that stretches along much of the western border of Alberta. It is characterized by forests of coniferous trees, such as spruce, fir and pine. At higher elevations, permanent snow fields and glaciers are scattered among rocky ledges, scree slopes and alpine meadows.
Adjacent to this region are Alberta's three mountain national parks: Jasper, Banff and Waterton Lakes. Hunting is prohibited in national parks.
The region is mostly boreal uplands with smaller boreal foothills and subalpine
ecoregions. It has a moderate to high value for water production. Wildlife habitat
